One magical island

2 Life Changing Trips.

These trips are the culmination of my 10 year love affair with Timor-Leste, running projects and expeditions in this magical country. I wanted to design two trips I really believe in. Trips that celebrate the vibrant culture and spectacular underwater world, whilst supporting the local economy and businesses. Where sustainability is at the heart of the trip. Ethical, raw and bespoke.  Come experience my favourite place in the world.

Timor-Leste?

Timor-Leste is a small country with a violent and turbulent history. Gaining independence finally from a Portuguese and Indonesian occupation in 2002. The country is blessed with outstanding natural beauty. It has a mountainous main land, home to a coffee growing region (TL biggest export) and exquisite coastline .  Outside of the developing multi cultural capital - most of the population are subsistence fishers and farmers.

There are two seasons in Timor-Leste - Wet and Dry. Both trips are planned for the end of dry season (just before the rains come). Where we can expect flat calm clear warm ocean conditions. And hot, humid sunny air temperatures.

There are multiple routes to get here. If coming from the UK & Europe - I recommend coming in from Bali. There are direct flights from Darwin, Australia.

The Trip

Join us this October / November and experience the cetacean super highway.

Most famously the Ombai and Wetar straights are known for the pygmy blue whales, which tend to pass through these waters on their way south, after calving in the Banda Sea. However it is possible to encounter more than 20 different species of cetacean here, including sperm whales, killer whales, beaked whales and a number of different species of dolphins.

BUT we wanted to be SO much more than a soul less whale trip. Splitting our time between Dili, the Timorese capital and  Atauro. We will showcase to you, not only whales but also exceptional reefs to snorkel on, cultural experiences to partake in and an unforgettable trip.

Offering wellbeing extras like daily yoga practises, freedive line training and hikes and excursions this trip promises to make you fall in love with Timor-Leste as i did.
